I deliver presentations, conference lectures, workshops, professional training and facilitated discussions that translate clinical experience and interdisciplinary research into practical knowledge and meaningful dialogue. My engagements are tailored to diverse audiences, including universities, healthcare organisations, professional bodies, government, civil society, businesses and community organisations. Topics draw on expertise in trauma-informed care, mental health, ethics, sexual violence, community psychology, decolonial and feminist approaches and research translation. Extended biography

Dr Leona Morgan is a Clinical Psychologist, researcher and consultant whose work bridges clinical psychology, ethics, health sciences and community engagement. A humanitarian at heart and values-driven professional, she combines clinical experience with interdisciplinary scholarship to advance equitable, evidence-informed approaches to trauma recovery and mental wellbeing.

She completed a joint PhD in Ethics at the University of the Western Cape (South Africa) and Health Sciences at Ghent University (Belgium) in 2026. Her research contributes to the field of decolonial feminist clinical and community psychology, examining how structural violence, intergenerational trauma, gendered oppression, embodiment, spirituality and social inequality shape trauma experiences and pathways to healing. Through her doctoral research, she developed and evaluated the Integrative Trauma-Informed Care (ITIC) model, offering a survivor-centred, culturally responsive framework for trauma recovery in marginalised communities.

Dr Morgan's work sits at the intersection of academic scholarship, ethical inquiry and community-engaged clinical practice. Her research has advanced understanding of embodied trauma recovery, therapeutic co-creation, integrative silence as a therapeutic modality, and the complex role of religion and spirituality in recovery from childhood sexual abuse. She is passionate about translating rigorous research into practical knowledge that informs clinical practice, professional education, organisational leadership and public policy.

Alongside her research, Dr Morgan has worked in private practice, psychiatric hospitals, community-based services and corporate wellbeing settings. As a speaker, she brings together academic rigour, clinical insight and practical application to deliver engaging presentations that encourage critical reflection and inspire more ethical, culturally responsive and trauma-informed approaches to mental health and wellbeing.
